Tuesday Chavies Reversal Group

After an uneventful nights rest we woke to another beautiful morning here in eastern Kentucky.  We had morning prayer followed by breakfast before loading up for another day of work.  Now that we have a better idea on the scope of our projects this should be a much more productive day.  We had another hot day with temps in the 90's and humidity closs to it.  Below are comments from some of the teens about their family and the work we are doing with them today.

Hello Hello from American Samoa,
Today was the second day on our floor repairing adventure! Not only did we build some serious muscle from tearing out sub-flooring and hammer pounding but we also got to seriously learn how much we loved God and the work we would do in his name especially due to working with itchy insallation, smelly molding floors and classy falls on our butts in front of each other. We were able to learn how to use electric saws, electric/cordless drills and know the difference between the phillips and star drills! (fathers be proud:)) Until next time, ta ta for now!!  ~Olivia B.

Today team Acadia got the deck ready to finsh for tomorrow. Then we will make some stairs for the deck. We are have a lot of fun while we are helping this family. So now we will be having a good time with the stairs. Nothing got broken today so I guess that is good.

Team Newton had a magical day today! We installed insulation and part of our drywall on the ceiling of one bedroom. One of our staffers, Hannah, came to help us and we had a lot of fun. On the roof, Tom was rocking it with Lindsay and Julia. The crew on the ground did have a little difficulty finding the right screws to give to them. Many of our team members have bonded with our 5 year old and our resident pets: 5 dogs and 2 kittens. The kittens more than anything else.

Grand Teton had a wonderful day today! We finished a lot of insulation under the house, and worked on buidling a railing for the set of stairs we put in on the porch. Derek (the house owner) and his friend Chris, were eager to get to work and self assigned themselves to redo work from pervious ASP groups. After all the hard work, we took a walk up the mountain with the family to see the most incredible view. The hike was nothing like a walk in Illinois, but it was worth it. We got spring water, saw some cool animals, and ate blackberrys off a tree. We're excited to get back to work tomorrow!

Big Bend had a great day! We focused mainly on the underpinning of the trailer and got so much done. We started an assembly line and realized it goes much faster if we all work together! After a tiring morning we were so excited to get a special treat for lunch today: Wendy's! It gave us the boost we needed to finish the day off strong. Overall, we made a lot of progress today and can't wait to get started again tomorrow!

Great Basin also had an adventerous day today. We connected the east and West trenches which goes around the back of the house to prevent water from draining into the home. We also started and finished the second trench which was twelve inches deep and at least 18 inches wide. Today was much warmer than yesterday and we had to be careful not to overheat while digging. Our family was very friendly and welcoming as always. Overall great progress!
